RE: 2008 Seneca HD Diesel 36FS Double slides

We have the 36fs and so far so good. Just takes about 200 miles of driving to get used to it. We got ours in Dec. 07 and 5,000 miles so far and only had one issue with the TV brackets in cabover, but dealership made a quick fix. The tank is empty and diesel is $4.19 here so going to wait with crossed fingers that it will get lower before our next trip.

RE: No tv when camping was I wrong.

Since I actually have 4 kids and camp a lot the TV won't hurt a bit and they'll find more interesting things to do aroud the campground. Like my DW always says,"You need to pick your battles" and this is not a battle worth fighting.

RE: LP Quick Connect

Okay so when I'm facing the LP tank the tee will go on the left side of the regulator?

RE: LP Quick Connect

Okay now I got the stay a a while Tee, how do you install it?? The only opening on the LP tank appeared to be the "fill" connector, but their is no inner threads plus I would image that needs to remain open. Their was a box looking item that said not to remove, so maybe that is what needed to be removed to find the place to connect this tee.

LP Quick Connect

I have the Seneca 08 36fs coming over from 5th wheel with road trip grill and extra long hose I used to run direct from the LP tank to grill. I went to CW to find a similar hose set-up and was told they did not have a hose to go from the quick connect to a grill regulator. I hate the idea of going back to the 1lb bottles, please help.

Seneca Generator

My generator on my 36fs would not start the other day, the fuel gauge in the cab is under a 1/4 of a tank. Is this the normal level in which the generator is not able to get to the fuel?

RE: TV Power / Ignition interlock relay

I can now confirm that the 2008 36FS has the same purple wire running from the outlet in which the DVD/TV plug into. I cut the wire and now the family can watch movies on the go. Life is great and this is just another reason to love RV NET! :)

RE: Jayco Embark

Flygal 915
We went with the Seneca 36fs since we have 4 kids and I wanted each to have their own bed and still have room for friends to bring along. One of my greatest pleasures comes from bringing my kids friends camping when it is their first time see how much they LOVE camping, it makes the long drives and extra work all worth it.
I would also looked at Winnebego/Itasca class A's with the bunks.

RE: Jayco Embark

The industry is always slow to figure out that families such as mine with 4 kids can actually afford a $120K motorhome. A few years back when I was looking at going from a TT to 5th wheel very few had bunk models, but slowly the industry came around and now look at how many 5th wheel models have bunks. When I started looking at motorhomes I thought I would be stuck with a class A with bunks and then we'd have to fight a hide a bed and have limited towing capabilities. So glad I waited to find the 36FS, we LOVE it. :)

RE: Cold Weather Camping in a Seneca

We took our 36fs back to IA over Christmas, but I winterrized it first. I would be more worried about the water lines inside the coach than the holding tanks, those should be fine with plenty of antifreeze. When I camp in cold climiates I make sure to keep the furnace running and a electric space heater running and keep the cabinets open so the heat can get to the water lines. When hooked up to full hookups I leave the faucet open to keep the water moving.

RE: Seneca Tire Pressure

I will go with the 95PSI and find a scale on our next adventure. I realize the proper inflation based on the actual weight on the tires is worth the time spent. I have my goodyear chart printed and ready. Since I have never used a scale to weigh a vehicle don't even use the bathroom one :( I am assuming that the rig is weighed with just the front wheels on the scale and then pull forward until the front wheels are off the scale to come up with the front and rear axle weights??

Seneca Tire Pressure

I have asked several different people on the street and keep getting different answers so I'll give yall a try. How much PSI did I need to run in my tires and should they all be the same on my HD36 FS when loaded with 1/2 tank of water, 4 kids, DW, small dog, etc.? The door says 95(?) and the tires say 110(?) I attended part of a tire seminar @ the Rally in Perry, so I realize I should actually go weigh it, but I have NO time.

RE: TV Power / Ignition interlock relay

Could I assume this will also work for an 08 36fs? I was looking at having to run an extension cord to the outlet and run the generator to keep kids and momma happy.

RE: Upgrade the generator?

The 6000 has powered all the stuff we run and generators are made to run hard.

RE: Jayco's Great Customer Service

This is good to hear since I'm taking my 08 Seneca 36FS in on Thursday to have the cab over TV brackets replaced, they fell apart and the TV keeps sliding back and forth. We have put over 4,000 miles on it since 12/23/07 and so far this is the only issue. I'm not looking for $1K, but a free tank of fuel would be great! :)

RE: Seneca BBQ

I moved mine from the closet to the garage, still in the box. It would appear to me to also be a little high and I'm still trying to figure out HOW Jayco intends for me to open my stove exhaust vent on my Seneca.
I had also been trying to figure out how to tilt the Carfree awning, but finally got a carefree rep @ the rally to show me, but then how to buy a ladder to reach it.

RE: registration fees for 5th wheel in wyoming

Just purchased my 08 Jayco Seneca Class C in Dec 07 and the tag bill came last week for $1,419 :(
I paid around $65 for tags on my 2006 5th wheel back in Iowa.

The Rally in Perry, GA

This will be our first rally and bringing the 4 kids, 12/9/6/2, first 2 are girls and then the 2 boys. We'll be in lot 4, the DW thought we'd need electricity I'm more worried about running out of water. We come in during the afternoon group and can't wait. Any good information from past attendees?

RE: formaldyhide

I saw on a website today that 38,000 families are still living in these trailers. I asked the above question when camping in south MS this summer to a family in a FEMA trailer and the reply,,,,,,,IT'S FREE.
